1st. Assistant Chief Doug Nichols has served his community of Wrightsville since 1975, when he first joined! He has served in almost every position from firefighter to Chief. He continues to serve and loves doing it! H joined to get to know more people in the community and “give it a try” after some friends asked him to join. To this day, he enjoys serving and working hard on a scene.
Mari grew up in a family of firefighters. She realized one day that if they could do it, she could do it. She took the EMT class at her local Fire Department, went to the trainings, and now continues to serve there as an EMT.
Heidi joined her local fire department because a friend had encouraged her to join. She didn’t have a career of background of firefighting or EMT, but her skills very valued within the department. She jumped in by taking pictures on calls to help promote the department and raise funds through that. She is passionate about the fact that anyone can do something to help their local Fire Department.
Paul has served at his local Fire Department for the past several years and is currently active as a Safety Officer. He first joined because his father in law, who was currently acting as fire chief, encouraged him to. Paul’s passion for serving his community is an inspiration to those around him.
Donnie has been a volunteer firefighter in our county for the past twenty years and loves serving his community in this way. He was inspired to join at a young age in his hometown in Virginia and has been loving it ever since.
